Camp Trach Me Away seeks to empower children and young adults with tracheostomies and their families by providing resources, promoting advocacy, and advancing community awareness in order to foster independence and life-long wellness
In Georgia, there are over 250 children with tracheostomies. Children with tracheostomies require exceptional care that often prevents them from participating in traditional and even medically-fragile summer camps.
Camp Trach Me Away, Georgia’s first and only overnight camping program for children with tracheostomies, provides a fun and medically-safe environment for children ages 7-18 who wish to experience summer camping. Trach Me Away provides an opportunity for these very special children to have the ultimate overnight camp experience all while under the attentive supervision of our medical professionals. Our campers horseback ride, rock climb, zip line, karaoke, participate in talent shows, arts and crafts and so much more while their parents have a much needed respite from the day to day care of their child.
